The project FEMME FRACTALE was conceived during nighttime strolls through the world's metropolises. anna.laclaque projects her own image onto randomly encountered house walls, objects, water, or garbage. The projections merge with the surfaces; the woman's figure is fragmented, multiplied, distorted, and fractalised to the limits of the recognisable.
The artist is interested in exploring the boundaries of her own self in different environments and contexts. Instead of being a projection screen for others, she projects herself to continually reinvent and redefine herself. In the darkness of the night, this fragile moment of self-determination flashes forth, a mysterious, fleeting glimpse of herself. Michel Lavignon's photographs bear witness to these mysterious, transient metamorphoses.
