"Call for Artists" - Bando per Artisti
For selection, publication in our MAGAZINE, or to propose to events we organize.
Utopian Identity in Action
Theme: Art as a Tool of R-existence and Social Transformation
Utopian-Identity invites artists, creatives and visual thinkers from each discipline to explore and manifest their vision of a utopian identity. Utopia, for us, is not a non-existent place, but a creative force that pushes us to overcome the given reality and to imagine more just, free and empathetic worlds.
We try to propose works or messages that go beyond mere aesthetics, that have a social and cultural vocation and that act as a catalyst for change.
What are we looking for
We are looking for artists and works that reflect on these central questions:
-
Rediscovery of the Essence: How can your art reveal your utopian identity beyond social or material conventions?
-
Art as Necessity: How can your creation inspired by your utopian identity have real social utility, stimulating dialogue, empathy or a new awareness of the near future?
Disciplines and Mediums Allowed
The Call is open to these visual and performative languages:
-
Installations of any kind
-
Photography and Video Art
-
Performance and Interactive Art1
-
Visual Poetry and Digital Projects
-
Street Art (Conceptual projects for interventions)
Selection criteria
Priority will be given to proposals which:
-
They show a strong conceptual coherence with the theme of identity and utopia.
-
They demonstrate an explicit commitment to social utility or critical reflection.
-
They present an original and unconventional approach in choosing the medium or message.
Objective of the Movement
With this Call, Utopian-Identity is committed to giving space to those artistic voices that believe in the transformative power of the imagination. We want to build an "Ariadne's thread" that connects the different individual "lights", making visible the collective movement towards our "Utopian Identity".
Join us to affirm that, like a small light, every artist is useful for making utopia shine.
